The Son of Hell is the False Prophet

Paul gives identifying traits of this figure’s ministry: satanic power, lying signs, wonders, and mass deception.

This aligns with Paul’s warning that the man of sin’s coming is marked by deceptive supernatural power that results in people embracing the lie (2 Thessalonians 2:11).

C) Conclusion of the Study: The Same End-Time Deceiver

You Must Be Baptized in the Holy Spirit to Learn—and Live—What You Hear From Christians

Since 1991, when I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, I’ve noticed something consistent: preachers, Bible writers, and every true messenger of God—past, present, and future—are all sharing what they learned in their walk with Him.

But what the hearers often discover (as I did) is that these instructions are not easy to carry out. Many people try to do what they hear by their own strength. Yet what faithful preachers teach and what Scripture commands is the work of the Holy Spirit—and it cannot be lived without the Spirit’s anointing within you.

For example, earlier in this post under “Cross Reference‑Anchor,” I said, “the Bible interprets itself through the Holy Spirit, so you can understand what God is saying in 2 Thessalonians 2:7.”

What I meant is this: the Holy Spirit brought Acts 1:7 to my mind to clarify 2 Thessalonians 2:7. He did that because it matters to Him that the Church understands the truth about the Great Restrainer—that it is God the Father. There are many private interpretations and false prophecies from people who do not have the baptism in the Holy Spirit and therefore do not know God, claiming the restrainer is the Church, a prophet in heaven, or other ideas that do not hold up in context.

“26 But when the Father sends the Comforter instead of me—and by the Comforter I mean the Holy Spirit—he will teach you much, as well as remind you of everything I myself have told you.”

Jesus is teaching that the Holy Spirit reminds us of Scripture so we can understand Scripture. Some interpret this to mean the Spirit only reminds us of what Jesus said in the New Testament—but the Word interprets itself.

Jesus is the eternal Word who became a man (John 1:1–5). That means He existed before His earthly birth, and His voice is not limited to the Gospels. He also speaks in the Old Testament. • Reading the Bible fills your memory with Scripture—but the Spirit’s work is more than memorization. Regular reading will naturally cause verses to come to mind as you read and hear words. But I’m not calling that alone “the voice of the Spirit.” I’m talking about the Spirit’s active work: He brings the right Scripture to remembrance at the right time to reveal God’s meaning and make His message clear.
• What I did with Acts 1:7 and 2 Thessalonians 2:7 was the work of the Holy Spirit—not outside input. “The Father sets those dates… and they are not for you to know.” (Acts 1:7, Living Bible) The Holy Spirit is the One who brought Acts 1:7 to my mind to clarify 2 Thessalonians 2:7—showing that the Father controls the appointed times, and therefore the Father is the Restrainer. This kind of Scripture-to-Scripture connection is part of how the Spirit teaches.

I ask you plainly, with eternity in view:

Do you believe in Jesus?

Do you believe in Jesus Christ—truly believe?

You have heard the gospel. Now the Holy Spirit presses the question to your heart: will you receive it? For “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures… and… was buried, and… rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). And He did not rise in secret—He was seen alive by witnesses, by apostles, and by many (1 Corinthians 15:5–8).

So I ask you plainly:

Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins, just as the Scriptures declare? (1 Corinthians 15:3)

Do you believe that He was buried, and that God raised Him from the dead on the third day? (1 Corinthians 15:4)

Do you believe that He was seen alive—proving that death was conquered and the gospel is true? (1 Corinthians 15:5–8)

If you will not resist Him, believe the Word you have heard. Receive the testimony God has given of His Son. This is the gospel that saves. (1 Corinthians 15:1–2)

Now, I’m taking you to the prayer page on my website for salvation and baptism in the Holy Spirit. Read it—and may the Holy Spirit come upon you today, and clothe you with Christ’s victory over the flesh, to obey God and inherit eternal life. (Romans 8:2; Galatians 5:16; John 3:16)

“Lord, I Believe”

 The Holy Spirit is speaking plainly in this passage: if you want to be saved, you must do what God declares in Romans 10:9–10. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9). And again, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10). Therefore, you must confess with your mouth what the Scriptures say about Jesus—that He is Lord over sin and death, that He died for our sins, and that God raised Him from the dead—and you will be saved by that faith you have spoken.

And the Holy Spirit also reveals where that faith comes from. If you want to believe in Jesus and be delivered from sin and death, then read what God has written about Him—because faith in Jesus is created when the Word of God is heard and received. As it is written, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). Read the New Testament testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ, and when you openly confess before God and before this world that you believe what Scripture says about Him, that confession becomes your confession of faith unto salvation (Romans 10:9–10).

This is why it is called the Confession of the Word of Faith in Christ—and why the Sinner’s Prayer matters. Now, let me lead you in the Sinner’s Prayer:

Get out your dusty Bible and read the Gospel of John, the Acts of the Apostles, and the Epistle to the Romans in the New Testament—while you listen to the playlist below.

And know this: the tears that flood your eyes when you pray the Sinner’s Prayer are not random emotion. They are a witness of the Presence of God. It is God the Holy Spirit drawing near to you, and your soul is responding to Him. For “God is love,” as it is written: “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love” (1 John 4:7–8).

When you meet Him, you cannot remain untouched. The heart breaks, the eyes overflow, and the inner man bows—because His light exposes, and His love heals. This is what Scripture calls “godly sorrow,” not the sorrow of despair, but the sorrow that turns you toward life. As it is written:

“Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance… For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of” (2 Corinthians 7:9–10). And the fruit of that sorrow is real and visible: “For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you… yea, what clearing of yourselves… yea, what indignation… yea, what fear… yea, what vehement desire… yea, what zeal… yea, what revenge!” (2 Corinthians 7:11).

 Now I speak to you in the authority of Jesus Christ, because the Holy Spirit is Heaven’s guarantee—God’s seal upon the redeemed. Scripture shows that it is possible to be a believer and yet not have received the Holy Spirit in the fullness of the new birth. In Acts 19:1–6, Paul found disciples who had believed, yet they had not received the Holy Spirit; and when he ministered to them, the Holy Spirit came upon them.

So, hear this: if you will pray the prayer below and believe God’s Word as you pray, you will meet God the Holy Spirit, and you will be born again. For the Bible declares, “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance” (Ephesians 1:13–14).
