Most people don’t wake up saying, “I don’t need Jesus.” Instead, it shows up in quieter thoughts we all recognize: “I’ll get serious later.” “I’m trying my best.” “Surely God sees my heart.” “If I keep repenting and doing right, I’ll be okay.”

Underneath those thoughts is one honest question that touches every soul:

“Is Jesus really necessary, or can I be made right with God another way?”

This message is for anyone who has ever hoped that time, effort, religion, or personal goodness could close the gap between a holy God and a sinful human heart. It’s written to bring that question into the light—and to point to what Scripture declares: that peace with God is not achieved by our striving, but by what Jesus Christ has already done through His sacrifice.

Is Jesus Necessary? The Only Sacrifice That Truly Makes Us Right with God

Today Jesus said the following to me, and asked me to write it. Which means to make a message out of it.

Jesus prophesied saying,

  “It will take a million years to make it back to God without Me. You do it with animal sacrifice. Every time you sacrifice an animal to Him, He is pleased.”

The Holy Spirit now confirms this message to me by bringing to my memory (see John 14:26) a passage in Hebrews.

Hebrews 10:5-10 Modern English Version

⁵ Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:

“Sacrifices and offerings You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me.

⁶ In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have had no pleasure.

⁷ Then I said, ‘See, I have come to do Your will, O God,’ as it is written of Me in the volume of the book.”

⁸ Previously when He said, “You did not desire sacrifices and offerings. You have had no pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin,” which are offered in accordance with the law,

⁹ then He said, “See, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second.

¹⁰ By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:5–10: The Father’s Desire Fulfilled—Jesus’ Holy Blood, Once for All

Hebrews 10:5–10 makes it clear that God the Father was never ultimately pleased with the blood of bulls and goats as the final answer for sin. Those sacrifices were permitted for a time, but they could not truly remove sin or fully satisfy God’s holiness. What the Father desired was holy blood—a sinless offering.

That is why Jesus’ words bring everything into focus. When Jesus said that it would take “a million years” of animal sacrifices for God to be pleased, He was not teaching that animal blood can finally justify us. He was showing the hopeless length and impossibility of trying to reach God without His own atoning sacrifice. In other words: if Jesus did not justify us by His blood, it would take an unimaginable amount of time and repeated sacrifice for man to ever be accepted.

So, the Holy Spirit’s words in Hebrews 10 (especially verses 6 and 8, where it says God is not pleased with animal sacrifices) do not contradict Jesus. They confirm the point: animal sacrifices were never God’s finished solution. Only Jesus could fully please the Father, because He offered His own sinless life. His blood is the holy sacrifice God accepted once for all.

So, in closing—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit testify to one truth: God is not calling us to endless striving or repeated sacrifices to be justified. He is calling us to the finished sacrifice of Jesus Christ. And even now, I hear the holy angels singing hymns about the blood of Jesus—confirming what heaven knows to be true: the blood of Jesus is precious, final, and sufficient.

Postscript / Conclusion

Jesus said, “It will take a million years to make it back to God without me. You can do it with animal sacrifice. Every time you sacrifice an animal to Him, He is pleased.”

Hebrews 10:5–10 is the Holy Spirit’s clear confirmation that the Father was never ultimately satisfied by the blood of bulls and goats. Those sacrifices could point to sin, cover for a time, and teach the seriousness of judgment—but they could not perfect the conscience, remove sin at its root, or bring a person into true reconciliation with God. That is why Scripture says God did not desire or take pleasure in those offerings as the final answer.

So, how do we understand what I heard: that “every time” an animal is sacrificed God is pleased, and that “after a million years” He would eventually be pleased? The Holy Spirit is showing the difference between what is temporary and what is eternal. God can acknowledge obedience to what He commanded for a season, but He was not pleased with it as the finished solution for sin. The Father wanted holy blood—sinless blood—because only holy blood can satisfy holy justice. Jesus pleased the Father fully, once and for all, by offering His own spotless life.

Therefore the conclusion is this: without Jesus, man’s efforts—even religious sacrifice—can never reach God in the way salvation requires. At best, it would be an impossibly long, crushing attempt that still falls short of what Hebrews reveals. But with Jesus, the way is immediate and complete: not through endless offerings, but through one perfect offering. The Father is pleased—not by animal blood as the final payment—but by the Son’s obedience and the sinless blood of Christ, which sanctifies all who come to God through Him.

Why Jesus Spoke This Prophecy: Exposing the Belief That We Can Be Justified Without Him

What could someone think or talk about that Jesus heard and spoke this message by prophecy to them in response?

Jesus would be addressing a heart-question like this: “Is Jesus really necessary, or can I be made right with God another way?”

What that kind of thinking can look like (and why a warning like this would come):

• “I can earn my way back to God over time.”
  The “million years” language confronts the idea that enough time + enough effort + enough religious acts will eventually make God accept me.
• “Any sacrifice is good enough if I’m sincere.”
• Hebrews 10:5–10 says God was not ultimately pleased with animal blood as the solution for sin—so the issue is trusting a substitute God never intended to be the final payment.
• “Jesus’ blood is optional—one option among many.”
• The prophecy, as you’re describing it, presses the exclusivity of Christ’s offering: without Him, there is no finished atonement—only endless repetition.
• “If I just keep repenting and doing religious works, I’ll be justified.”

The Million-Year Warning and the Once-for-All Blood: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Testify of Christ Alone

The Seriousness of Jesus’ Sacrifice (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)

Jesus’ words—“It will take a million years to make it back to God without me”—are not given to flatter human effort, but to expose it. They confront the deepest deception of the fallen heart: that time, suffering, religion, or repeated sacrifice can eventually produce righteousness. The “million years” is a prophetic way of saying: without the Son, the distance is beyond you.

The prophecy confronts that drift and calls the soul back to the only foundation that truly reconciles: Christ crucified, Christ’s blood, Christ’s obedience, Christ alone.

So, in closing—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit speak one testimony:

• The Father is not satisfied by animal blood as the final answer for sin.
• The Son is the holy offering who fully pleases the Father and brings us near.
• The Holy Spirit confirms it in Hebrews and bears witness to the glory of the blood of Jesus.

And yes—if you are hearing the angels sing hymns about the blood of Jesus, that fits the message: heaven does not celebrate human striving; heaven celebrates the Lamb. Their praise is a witness that the matter is settled in the courts of God: the blood of Jesus is precious, final, and sufficient—and it is the only way home.

If this message leaves you feeling the weight of it, that is not condemnation—it is clarity. God is not asking you to climb a mountain of time, effort, or religious striving to reach Him. He is showing you that without Jesus, the distance is beyond what any person can cross, and no repeated offering can finally settle the debt of sin.

Hebrews testifies that the Father was not ultimately satisfied with the blood of animals, because what He desired was holiness—truth in the inward parts—and a perfect offering that matched His perfect justice. That is why the Son came and said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will.” And that is why the Holy Spirit bears witness to the finality of Christ’s sacrifice: one offering, once for all, able to cleanse, sanctify, and bring the sinner near.

So, let the conclusion be simple and personal: stop looking for another way. Stop postponing surrender. Stop mixing the finished work of Jesus with the idea that you must still pay your own way back. The Father has already shown what pleases Him. The Son has already provided it. The Holy Spirit is already confirming it.

And if heaven is singing about the blood of Jesus, it is because heaven knows what earth forgets: this is not a small doctrine—it is the doorway of salvation. The Lamb has been offered. The price has been paid. The way is open.

Now the only question left is not whether the sacrifice is enough, but whether you will receive it.

A Personal Response: From Striving to Resting in Jesus’ Finished Work

How can I personally respond to this message in my life?

You can respond to this message personally in a way that’s simple, real, and measurable—by moving from thinking about Jesus to resting in what He finished and obeying what He’s asking you now:

1. Settle the foundation (faith, not striving): Pray plainly: “Father, I stop trusting my effort, time, or religious works to make me right. I trust only the blood of Jesus and His finished sacrifice.”
2. Repent specifically (not generally):Ask the Holy Spirit to name what you’ve been leaning on besides Christ (performance, fear, rituals, “I’ll do better,” self-punishment). Confess it specifically and turn from it.
3. Receive what Hebrews 10 says is true: Say out loud: “Jesus’ offering was once for all. I receive cleansing, forgiveness, and acceptance because of Him.” (This is where peace replaces torment.)
4. Live from gratitude into obedience: Choose one concrete act of obedience that flows from love—not to earn salvation, but because you’re saved (forgive someone, make something right, remove a compromise, reconcile, serve, give, tell the truth).
5. Keep your conscience clean quickly: When you sin, don’t spiral into self-payment. Confess fast, thank Jesus for His blood, and get back up. Refuse the mindset of “I must suffer to be forgiven.”
6. Stay anchored in Scripture and community: Keep Hebrews 10:5–10 (and the surrounding chapter) in your weekly reading, and share the message with a trusted believer/pastor who will keep you grounded and accountable.
